Free email syntax checker
Paste any email address and we'll check the syntax, look up the domain's MX records, and flag disposable or role-based addresses. Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is stored.
What this checks
Email validation has four layers. This free tool runs the first three; the fourth (SMTP mailbox ping) needs a server, which is what our bulk verifier does for 10,000+ at a time.
- Syntax — does it match the RFC 5322 format for an email address?
- MX records — does the domain advertise mail servers?
- Disposable / role flags — temp providers and role mailboxes hurt deliverability.
- Mailbox check — does the mailbox actually exist and accept mail? (paid)
Why syntax alone isn't enough
Passing syntax just means the format is plausible. nobody@google.com has perfect syntax but no mailbox. Roughly 20-30% of cold lists pass syntax but bounce — that's what kills sender reputation. For lists over a hundred addresses, run them through real-time mailbox verification.
Need to verify 10,000 emails at once?
Bulk email verifier checks every address against the real mailbox, rescues catch-alls, and returns a clean CSV. No subscription — pay per credit, with auto-refunds on uncertain results.
